Ellen Wallace,
director…
… founded Zidao in 2002. She was
previously head of corporate relations for the International
Baccalaureate Organization, a leading group in the field of
international education. She has worked as professor of business
communications, editor in educational publishing and public
relations manager and consultant in health care in the US,
translator and editor in Paris, France.
For 15 years she was a journalist, reporting
and writing from more than 30 countries. Her published work
has appeared in more than 100 publications in nine countries,
including (on a regular basis) Time, People, Business
Week, Euromoney, The International Herald Tribune, The European,
European Travel & Life, France Discovery Guide. As
a journalist or public relations consultant she has studied
or worked with more than 2,000 companies throughout the world.

Liam Bates, webmaster,
for The World at School. student (languages English, French,
Chinese), special interests: film production, wushu (martial

Mary Tiegreen,
graphic designer,
New York. American (languages English,
French, Italian) Mary has been working with Ellen Wallace
for three years as art director on a variety of projects for
an international education group. More recently, for Zidao,
she has taken on responsibility as art director, with work
including web development for a Swiss-based executive search
firm.
In addition to her Zidao responsibilities,
she has co-authored and designed several books on such diverse
subjects as women explorers, golf, and a magical French farmhouse
named Pistoulet. Her design background covers the areas of
publishing, corporate communications, public relations and
marketing, web design, packaging and product development.

Roger is a graphics specialist, book designer, author, photographer

he has gained a considerable reputation in the resolution
of complex statistical information for print and screen.
He was project editor on the best-selling
Photographer's Handbook (Dorling Kindersley), designer of
the Kodak Workshop series of photography books and author

Emily Emerson, writer and editor,
media programmes, Angers,
France. Emily Emerson is an American writer, editor and translator
who moved to France for a year in 1979 and can’t seem
to leave. A former editor at the International Herald Tribune
newspaper, she has produced documentary films and served as
executive editor for a travel-based web site for America Online.
She is the editor of IB World, the magazine of the International
Baccalaureate Organization, and translates texts for LVMH,
Hermès, Maison de France (the French tourist board),
Van Cleef & Arpels, the city of Angers, France, and other
clients.
She has published articles in a number of
magazines and newspapers, including reports on the economies
of developing countries and other business issues for the
International Herald Tribune, Newsday (New York),
Global Business Press (London), Big Media Group
(Brussels), and American Business Press (New York).
She has also written several travel articles and guides, including
